Royal Caribbean cancels calls at Caribbean port for whole of 2026

Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruises have cancelled all calls to the private port in Labadee, Haiti, for the rest of the year.

In September, Royal Caribbean announced that it would be replacing calls to the port until at least April, but it has now been extended until the end of the year due to an ‘abundance of caution’.

It began cancelling visits to Labadee in 2024 following growing civil unrest in Haiti. The last time Royal Caribbean ships called at the destination was in early 2025.

Sister company Celebrity Cruises, which features Labadee on a few cruises, has also cancelled all 2026 calls.

Parent company Royal Caribbean Group told Travel Gossip: “Out of an abundance of caution, we have extended our pause to Labadee through December 2026. We have already communicated with guests directly.”

Depending on the itineraries, the port will be swapped for destinations including Nassau, Grand Turk, Grand Cayman, Falmouth and Costa Maya.

In December, Royal Caribbean opened its newest resort, Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
