TUI to open new ROBINSON adults-only resort in Soma Bay in 2029

ROBINSON is to open a new adults-only club resort in Egypt in 2029, expanding its portfolio in Soma Bay to two properties, after seeing ‘strong demand for the destination’.

The new resort, roughly 2km from the existing four-star ROBINSON SOMA BAY, will have around 250 rooms and focus on sport, culinary experiences, entertainment and relaxation.

The premium club brand of TUI Hotels & Resorts announced the new opening at World Travel Market (WTM) this week in London.

In addition, family-friendly ROBINSON SOMA BAY will undergo a ‘comprehensive renovation’ following the opening of the new property, including refurbishment of the rooms, reception, lobby, pool, spa, fitness areas, bars and theatre. A new sports pool and ROBY CLUB will also be added.

TUI Hotels & Resorts CEO Bernd Mäser said: “Soma Bay is an established and highly successful destination for ROBINSON. With a second club, we are creating an additional, clearly differentiated offering and reaching new customer groups.

“At the same time, we are making substantial investments in our existing club. This combination of growth, differentiation and the long-term development of our destinations is an important pillar of our strategy.”

The announcement comes amid growing interest in North Africa, with easyJet holidays CEO Garry Wilson predicting last month the region would continue to gain popularity thanks to its value for money.

ROBINSON currently operates 27 club resorts across 16 countries, including in Fuerteventura, the Maldives, Cape Verde and Türkiye. Further projects are planned in Cape Verde, China and Zanzibar.
