Royal Caribbean has extended the suspension of calls to its private port in Labadee, Haiti, until April 2026.
The line had already cancelled calls to the port until at least November, and Royal Caribbean has now informed passengers and agents calls will be cancelled for another six months, due an ‘abundance of caution’.
The fan blog Royal Caribbean Blog shared an email from the cruise line that said: “We have been monitoring the evolving situation in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and out of an abundance of caution, we’re cancelling our visits to Labadee through April 2026.”
It added: “We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause – your safety is our top priority.”
Guests will be refunded for any pre-booked shore excursions.
Cancellations will impact sailings on ships including Adventure of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, Jewel of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, Independence of the Seas and Explorer of the Seas.
Depending on the itineraries, Labadee will be substituted for ports such as Nassau in the Bahamas, Grand Turk in Turks & Caicos, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, George Town in Grand Cayman, Falmouth in Jamaica and Cozumel in Mexico.
