Advantage forced to postpone cruise conference due to low river levels

Advantage Travel Partnership has postponed its Cruise Conference in Budapest until 2027 due to continued low water levels on the Danube.

The event was due to take place on Riviera Radiance from 14 to 17 November.

Riviera, which has been monitoring water levels across Europe, said the conference ship was unable to begin and end its journey in Budapest as planned.

Advantage and Riviera are working on a revised date for the conference, with further details to be announced in due course.

Advantage Director of Cruise Jonny Peat said: “Unfortunately, due to the exceptionally low river levels, and having explored all potential alternative options with Riviera Travel, we have jointly taken the difficult decision to postpone the conference.

“We are all hugely disappointed, particularly given how close we are to the event, and the tremendous support and enthusiasm we have received from our members, sponsors and supplier partners.”

Riviera Travel Director of Trade Partnerships Vicky Billing added: “We are naturally disappointed to have to postpone the conference, but we know it’s absolutely the right decision for everyone. We want Advantage members and business partners to experience a Riviera river cruise at its very best, in exactly the same way we want that for every one of our guests.

“The good news is that the conference will go ahead in 2027, and I can promise it will be worth the wait and gives everyone something fantastic to look forward to next year. To all of our Advantage partners, we simply cannot wait to welcome you onboard.”
