Former MI5 boss to speak at Advantage conference

Former M15 Director General Baroness Eliza Manningham-Buller will give the keynote speech at next month’s Advantage conference.

Baroness Manningham-Buller headed up MI5 from 2002 to 2007. She then served as Chair of the Wellcome Trust, one of the world’s largest charitable funders of medical research, from 2015 to 2021.

In her keynote address, she will reflect on two decades of leadership across two demanding organisations and will explore how today’s leaders must adapt to an ever-shifting landscape of challenges – from climate change and pandemics to diversity, fairness and the constant emergence of unimagined threats.

Advantage Travel Partnership CEO Julia Lo Bue-Said said:  “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Baroness Manningham-Buller to this year’s Advantage Conference, Powered by People.

“Her extraordinary career, from the frontlines of counter-terrorism to global health, gives her a truly unique perspective on leadership under pressure. The lessons she brings are as relevant to the travel industry as they are to any sector navigating the complex and rapidly changing world we are experiencing today.”

The Advantage Conference takes place in Madrid from 11-14 May.
