Advantage Travel Partnership has unveiled details of the venue, host and agenda for its annual conference, which is taking place in Madrid from 11-14 May.
The joint leisure and business travel conference will be held at the Meliá Castilla Hotel, in the city’s culinary golden mile, a short walk from Real Madrid football club’s Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
The conference, entitled ‘Powered by People’, will be moderated by technology journalist, broadcaster and former co-host of Channel 5’s The Gadget Show Georgie Barrat. Georgie will also share practical, accessible AI insight with a focus on empowering people.
The main stage schedule for day one includes a global outlook keynote speech from The Times Economics Editor Mehreen Khan; a senior leadership debate on geopolitics, UK politics and aviation policy; a session on what it means for UK travel businesses, as well as presentations on future-focused travel trends and industry predictions.
There will also be member updates, a discussion on values-based leadership and inclusive decision-making, and a conversation around mental health and wellbeing.
Day two will feature breakout sessions, speed networking and dine arounds, where delegates can dine with supplier partners across Madrid’s restaurants.
A farewell party will be held on the final night, and there will be the option to stay an extra day to explore the Spanish capital or take part in a golf tournament.
Advantage CEO Julia Lo Bue-Said said: “Madrid will be more than a backdrop, it will be a bold statement of who we are and where we are headed. As members, stakeholders and friends of the Advantage Travel Partnership, our community is made up of ambassadors of transformation, champions of progress and architects of a more compassionate, interconnected and sustainable world.
“Our time together will be dedicated to exploring and advancing the themes that define our industry’s future: the power of people, the potential of technology and the profound difference travel can make when it is done well.
“We look forward to welcoming as many delegates as possible to what promises to be an extraordinary few days, inspiring, relevant and, above all, a genuine celebration of everything we have and can achieve together.”
