UK arrivals to Montenegro more than double pre-pandemic levels

The number of UK tourists to Montenegro hit 79,093 in the first seven months of 2026, more than double the number in the same period of 2019, before the pandemic.

New figures from the National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro show arrivals from the UK were up 102% between January and July this year compared to 2019. That is just short of the 80,873 UK visitors recorded for the whole of 2019.

Overnight stays were also up by 90% to 376,725, with UK visitors staying for around five nights on average.

The growth builds on a strong 2025, when 118,746 UK visitors travelled to Montenegro, up 47% on 2019.

The figures come a week after ABTA announced its 2027 Travel Convention will take place at Kotor Bay, Montenegro at the five-star Hyatt Regency from 4-6 October 2027.

Also in 2027, connectivity to Montenegro is set to improve further, with three new direct routes from the UK.

EasyJet will launch Scotland’s first direct connection to Tivat on 29 March 2027, with twice-weekly flights from Edinburgh on Mondays and Thursdays. The airline will also start a twice-weekly service from Birmingham to Tivat on 3 May 2027.

Jet2 will launch weekly flights from Leeds Bradford on 10 May 2027, running until 27 September 2027.
