ABTA has revealed that the 2027 Travel Convention will be held at Kotor Bay, Montenegro.
The event will take place at the five-star Hyatt Regency Kotor Bay Resort from 4-6 October 2027.
The announcement was made by Convention Moderator Jonathan Samuels, a Sky News Presenter and travel writer, at this year’s Travel Convention in Madeira, where the delegates raised £14,000 for ABTA LifeLine.
ABTA Chief Executive Mark Tanzer said: “We’re excited to be taking ABTA’s Travel Convention in 2027 to Montenegro for the first time. The Bay of Kotor is one of Europe’s most striking destinations, combining outstanding natural beauty with fascinating history, culture, and hospitality.
“Montenegro is becoming increasingly popular with UK holidaymakers and Kotor Bay will provide a stunning backdrop for our flagship event. We look forward to working closely with our hosts to deliver an exceptional Convention, whilst giving delegates the opportunity to experience fist-hand everything this remarkable destination has to offer.”
National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro Director Ana Tripković Marković added: “We are delighted that Montenegro has been selected to host ABTA’s Travel Convention in 2027. This prestigious event represents a significant opportunity to deepen our cooperation with the British travel industry and further strengthen the ties between our two markets.
“The United Kingdom is one of Montenegro’s key strategic source markets, with tourist arrivals and overnight stays demonstrating sustained growth in recent years, supported by enhanced air connectivity.
“We are confident that hosting the Convention will provide an exceptional platform to showcase the richness and diversity of Montenegro’s tourism offering to leading representatives of the British travel industry, foster new partnerships, and further reinforce Montenegro’s position as an attractive and competitive destination in this important market.“
