Jules Verne launches two Algeria solar eclipse tours for 2027

Jules Verne has launched two new Algeria tours to experience the 2027 total solar eclipse, which is set to be the longest of the century.

The small group escorted tour operator will offer a four-night and an eight-night itinerary. With Algeria lying in the path of totality, both new tours are designed to combine prime eclipse viewing opportunities with immersive cultural and landscape-led touring across the country.

The four-night departure, ‘Algeria Eclipse with Andy Green’ starts from £1,955pp and is accompanied by an expert astronomer. Departing on 30 July, the tour features visits to UNESCO-listed Casbah of Algiers, Ottoman landmarks in Oran, and guided viewing of the total solar eclipse.

The eight-night trip ‘Northern Algeria and the Eclipse’ departs on 29 July and starts from £3,095pp. It adds an exploration of the Northern part of the country, beginning in Algiers and touring to Oran, UNESCO-listed Tipaza, Constantine and various Roman sites including Timgad, Lambèse and Djemila.

Both trips include accommodation, breakfast daily, a full itinerary and services of local guides and representatives.

Jules Verne has unveiled the new itineraries which sit alongside their two existing Algeria offerings, the ‘Grand Tour of Algeria: Ancient Cities to the Sahara Desert’ and ‘Highlights of Algeria’.

Jules Verne Managing Director Debbie O’Neill said: “Algeria has performed exceptionally well for us since launch, so the introduction of our two new eclipse tours to the destination is very exciting news for us, offering guests the rare opportunity to witness a total solar eclipse in a spectacular setting.

“As with all Jules Verne tours, guests will enjoy the expertise of local guides and the reassurance of small group travel, ensuring a more personal and enriching experience throughout.”
