Marella Cruises adds new Greek port and six itineraries for summer 2028

Marella Cruises is adding Patras in Greece to its summer 2028 programme, alongside six new itineraries and an expanded cruise-and-stay offering.

The TUI-owned cruise line will put its summer 2028 programme on sale on 15 October 2026.

Patras will feature on Marella Explorer’s new seven-night ‘Grecian Gems’ itinerary, sailing from Corfu from July 2028, from £1,966pp.

It will be the first time Marella has called at Greek’s third largest city, offering historic sites including the Church of St Andrew and the Gulf of Patras.

Marella Explorer 2, the adult-only ship, will sail a new seven-night ‘Spanish Shores’ itinerary from Malaga from June 2028, calling at Gibraltar, Ibiza Town, Mahon, Palma and Cartagena.

Four new repositioning cruises will also be added from April 2028.

These include two ‘Sail into Spring’ sailings on Marella Explorer from Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz, Tenerife to Corfu; a five-night ‘Flavours of the Mediterranean’ sailing on Marella Discovery 2 from Palma to Dubrovnik; a 13-night ‘Transatlantic Treasures’ sailing on Marella Explorer 2 from Barbados to Malaga; and a 13-night ‘Atlantic Horizons’ sailing on Marella Voyager from Barbados to Palma.

The repositioning sailings will feature special guest speakers, additional shows, new showcases and tribute acts.

Marella is also expanding its cruise-and-stay offering, with 119 hotels now available across Majorca, Corfu, Dubrovnik and Malaga. The packages will operate from 22 airports across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Marella Cruises CEO Chris Hackney said: “We’re building on the continued popularity of our core homeports for Summer 2028. Demand for our Eastern Mediterranean Cruises remains strong, with Summer 2027 already ahead of last year.

“We’re also returning to Malaga for another summer season following the success of previous sailings from the region.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to offer customers new destinations and Patras is an exciting addition to our programme. Alongside new itineraries and expanded cruise and stay options, Summer 2028 will give customers even more choice when planning their next cruise.”
