Specialist operator makes ‘no surcharge’ pledge

Latin Routes has become the latest operator to announce it won’t be adding fuel surcharges on booked holidays.

Head of Trade Sales Gaynor Atherton posted on Travel Gossip’s Facebook group to say: “We know it continues to be a challenging time for travel bookings, and how important reassurance is for both you and your clients when planning and booking holidays.

“So, we’d like to reassure all of our agency partners that we will not be applying any fuel-related uplifts or surcharge to any of our enquiries or bookings.

“This is a firm position we’re taking as a company, and one we hope will help instil greater confidence for clients considering their next steps.

“We hope this information supports your ongoing conversations with customers and helps maintain momentum on enquiries and bookings.

“I want to personally thank you all for your continued partnership. We really do value working with you all.”

Gaynor confirmed the no surcharge pledge applies to existing and future bookings.

She told Travel Gossip: “We really want to support our agents, as it is difficult to get enquiries over the line. Hopefully this gives some reassurance and added confidence.”

Jet2, easyJet and TUI have all pledged not to add surcharges on booked flights and packages.
