Lindblad Expeditions Holdings has acquired a majority stake in luxury Antarctic operator White Desert.
It is the largest acquisition in Lindblad’s history.
White Desert was founded in 2005 by polar explorer Patrick Woodhead and flies guests into the remote interior of Antarctica.
Its itineraries include journeys to the Geographic South Pole and visits to an Emperor penguin colony of more than 20,000 birds.
Lindblad said the deal would create opportunities to expand White Desert’s offering through new camps and guest experiences, while strengthening its logistical capabilities.
The deal also includes Echo Charlie, a new aviation travel brand, which was also founded by Patrick.
Both brands will continue to operate independently under their existing identities while benefiting from Lindblad’s global platform and resources.
