ABTA LifeLine raised £14,000 at the Travel Convention in Madeira, which it said is sorely needed with applications for help going up three-fold since the start of the year.
Speaking at The Travel Convention in Madeira, LifeLine Director Trudie Clements called on the industry to come together and help establish the sustainable funding needed to ensure the charity can continue to support travel industry colleagues into the future.
“LifeLine exists to provide support when travel industry colleagues face some of the most challenging moments in their lives. As demand continues to grow, we need the industry’s backing to ensure we can be there for everyone who may need us in the future.”
As part of its fundraising efforts, LifeLine is offering one place in next year’s London Marathon. Anyone interested in running for the charity is invited to register their interest by email, explaining why they would like to take on the challenge in support of LifeLine.
The charity is also encouraging travel businesses to support its £2 per employee appeal. For more information, contact Trudie at trudie@abtalifeline.org.uk
