Journey Beyond has opened bookings for its 2027 season with an expanded portfolio, including an extended itinerary on The Ghan train.
Starting in March 2027, the train’s northbound route will be increasing from two nights to a three-night/four-day trip, bringing it in line with the duration of the southbound itinerary.
The journey will go from Adelaide to Darwin with stops in the South Australian wine region, the Flinders Ranges, Alice Springs and Katherine, before arriving in Darwin. Prices start from £1,674 per person for a Gold single cabin.
Journey Beyond has also introduced two new packages on the Great Southern train with its small-group outback operator, Outback Spirit, for 2027. The seven-day ‘Queensland Hinterland Spectacular’ starts from £3,202pp, and features Brisbane to Adelaide rail travel with stops in Tamborine Mountain and Lamington National Park.
The eight-day ‘Spectacular Kangaroo Island’ package is priced from £3,831pp and combines the Brisbane to Adelaide rail journey with a three-night Kangaroo Island stay.
Outback Spirit is currently offering early booking savings of up to £995pp on select 2027 tours.
