City Experiences is launching an overnight tour product line in Italy through its walking tour brand Walks.
The specialist operator, which sells through the trade, said it has developed the two overnight itineraries to allow customers to ‘linger longer in each location’ and avoid overcrowding at destinations.
On day one of the ‘Rome to Amalfi Coast’ tour, guests will travel from the Italian capital to Pompeii followed by an evening in Positano with a private sunset cruise and accommodation in a four-star hotel.
The next day, they will visit a lemon grove and spend time in Amalfi town, after which they can walk to Italy’s smallest town, Atrani, or take a boat to Cetara. The tour will conclude with a boat ride to Salerno and return journey to Rome.
Walks’ ‘Rome to Florence and Tuscany’ tour begins with a train journey from Rome to Florence where guests will visit the Galleria dell’Accademia, Sant’Ambrogio market and the city’s cathedral with an overnight stay in four-star accommodation.
On day two, guests will explore Tuscany with a tour of Siena, followed by a vineyard lunch with wine pairings and a visit to San Gimignano, ending with travel back to Rome.
Global Managing Director Roisin O’Sullivan said: “Over time, it has become harder to offer great experiences on day trips due to factors such as shift limits for bus drivers, increasing traffic and overcrowding.
“The only solution is to go for longer and stay after the crowds have gone.
“Walks’ new overnight product line is great value and offers enough space to do the kinds of things we always want to include on tours but don’t have time for, such as an aperitivo on the water or walking from Amalfi town to the smallest town in Italy.”
