TUI to move Luton aircraft to Gatwick for summer ‘26

TUI Airways will fly to just one destination from London Luton next summer, having decided to move its only aircraft previously based there to Gatwick, where it will replace a leased aircraft.

Flights from Luton will continue to Palma in Mallorca, to serve in-house cruise line Marella.

These will be multi-leg flights, starting and ending at one of TUI’s UK regional airports and stopping en-route to pick up or drop off passengers at Luton.

Customers booked to fly to any other destinations from Luton have been moved to third-party airlines or TUI Airways departures from other airports, including Gatwick and East Midlands.

TUI said the decision to move the one remaining aircraft at Luton to Gatwick was due to higher demand from the bigger London airport.

“We are still selling holidays from Luton, there has been no change to our tour operation there, but we are using third-party airlines, which gives us so much more flexibility,” they added.
