Travel Gossip announced the winners of The Travel Agent Awards South West & Wales at a gala evening in Bristol.
Winners included Paula Hansen of World Accessible Holidays, who was named Travel Agent of the Year, and Helen Tustin from Wellbeing Travel, who won the Outstanding Contribution award.
Some 250 guests at the Grand Hotel by Sunday heard Travel Gossip CEO Bruce Martin praise the dedication and professionalism shown by agents recently, particularly during the Middle East crisis.
Bruce said: “The past few months have once again reminded us exactly why travel agents matter so much. With the events in Iran and the disruption that followed, many of you have been working tirelessly for your customers – rearranging trips, offering reassurance, and answering calls late into the evening. That is when this industry shows its true value.
“To every agent in this room who has gone above and beyond recently, and to the tour operators working flat out behind the scenes, thank you. You have all been exceptional.”
Travel Gossip Managing Director Anwar Sohawon said: “We were delighted to celebrate the outstanding achievements of travel agents at the South West and Wales Travel Agent Awards.
“The calibre of entries was exceptional, and it was fantastic to see so many deserving winners recognised. Congratulations to all of our finalists and winners and thank you to our headline partner Newmarket Holidays and all our sponsors for helping make the event such a success.”
