The winners of The Travel Agent Awards North West were revealed last night at a fun-filled gala in Liverpool.
Some 250 guests attended the ceremony, held in partnership with Newmarket Holidays, at the Titanic Hotel.
Local comedian and actor Justin Moorhouse oversaw the 14 awards up for grabs, including High Street Agency of the Year and Homeworking Agent of the Year.
Among those taking home trophies were Emma Buckle of Designer Travel, who won Luxury Travel Curator of the Year, and Cruise Agent of the Year, Jon Burton of Fairclough Travel.
Kathryn Almond of The Travel Nuts was also awarded New Agent of the Year, while Sarah Meadowcroft of Global Travel & Cruise won both Touring & Adventure Agent of the Year and Travel Agent of the Year.
Travel Gossip CEO Bruce Martin told the audience: “This week’s air traffic control challenges were another reminder of just how vital travel agents are. So many of you worked tirelessly for your customers – rearranging trips, offering reassurance and answering calls late into the evening – proving the real value of booking with a travel agent.”
Bruce said: “It was fantastic to bring the Travel Agent Awards to the North West for the very first time and celebrate the brilliant agents and agencies across the region.
“The standard of entries was incredibly high, and it was great to see so many deserving people recognised for the hard work, passion and dedication they bring to the travel industry.
“A huge congratulations to all of our finalists and winners, and thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make our inaugural North West awards such a special night.
“A special thank you to our headline partner Newmarket Holidays and to all of our sponsors for their invaluable support in making the awards such a fantastic occasion.”
The North West ball concludes this year’s Travel Agent Awards, with previous ceremonies held for the South West & Wales in Bristol and the North East in Newcastle.
Next year, Travel Gossip is extending its regional Travel Agent Awards to the Midlands with a black-tie event event to celebrate agents’ achievements to be held in February 2027.
