A travel agency homeworking group that allows agents to retain up to 100% of their earnings is continuing to grow its network of consultants after launching earlier this year.
In February, luxury tour operator AZURE set up the franchise Independents Powered by AZURE, and Chairman Edward Leigh told Travel Gossip the business is now receiving new applicant enquiries ‘almost daily’.
Since April, a further 12 independent consultants have joined and 20 more are being onboarded. The consultants are each turning over £350,000 to £2 million a year.
Edward said: “The success has surpassed even our own expectations. The number of consultants joining has grown steadily, with feedback confirming that our approach is resonating.
“We have seen consultants join from other homeworking agency platforms – they are all selling a mix of products from luxury to mid-market.”
There’s no joining fee for Independents Powered by AZURE and, when booking AZURE holidays, the consultants retain 100% of their commission.
When selling other holidays, consultants pay a per-booking fee, which is on a sliding scale depending on the value of the trip, up to a maximum of £500 for bookings of £25,000 and above.
As a member of the Advantage Travel Partnership, the agents have access to more than 180 suppliers, but can work with other operators of their choosing.
Edward added: “We have had people from across the country join. As we grow I expect we will get mini-hubs in certain areas. We are quite active on social media and word of mouth is spreading and showing what we can offer.”
Looking ahead to 2026, Edward said the company will continue to recruit and the plan is to have a conference in the second quarter of the year, although plans are yet to be confirmed.
