Andy Tart was promoted to agency sales and events manager at Carrier earlier this month as the operator continues to crank up its trade activity. He joined the luxury specialist three years ago, having previously spent much of his career in business travel with Egencia. Travel Gossip delved into what makes him tick…
I never travel without… the right attitude. You’ve got to embrace other cultures and remain open to new experiences.
The famous person (dead or alive) I’d most like to sit next to on a plane is… well, preferably someone alive! I’d say Paloma Faith.
My weakness is… Pastel de Nata, preferable eaten fresh in Portugal.
The next place I’ll visit is… Vietnam on a lovely triple centre.
The last place I visited was… Cambodia. I stayed at Shinta Mani Wild and it was a truly spiritual experience.
The worst thing I ate or drank abroad was… chicken sausage in Malta.
My bucket-list destination is… gorilla trekking in Rwanda.
Born and brought up in… Warrington.
Live in… Manchester for 26 years, with a little side trip working in Gran Canaria for three as a bar manager.
The best piece of advice I’ve been given is… life is too short to match socks.
If I could eat one thing/meal for the rest of my life it would be… pork in a clay pot from Phu Quoc, Vietnam.
The emoji I use most often is… 😊
The thing I miss most while travelling is…. if it’s a long trip, my two Frenchies and my other half, Nathan. If it’s not, I enjoy the peace and quiet.
When I left school, I wanted to be… a holiday rep, after seeing a Skytours welcome meeting in Corfu aged 12.
The thing I’m most proud of is… my career at Carrier. I set myself a goal to work in leisure agency sales and am delighted it is with Carrier.
In my new role, I’ll be… working closely with our Account Management team helping to support our fantastic trade partners, providing the very best luxury trips for their clients.
What attracted me to the job was… returning to the leisure side of the business after spending eight years business travel. And working for such a prestigious company, of course!
The first thing I notice about a person when I meet them is… their smile, because first impressions really count.
If I won the Lottery tomorrow, I would…go gorilla trekking in Rwanda, and I’d treat my Mum and Dad to a nice trip away.
