John Docherty joins Wendy Wu as one of two new BDMs

Wendy Wu Tours has expanded its trade team by appointing John Docherty and Demi Johnson as its new Business Development Managers.

John joins from easyJet holidays, where he was Trade Distribution Manager. He will take on the role of BDM for Scotland. He has also worked for Princess Cruises and G Touring.

Demi, who joins from Trailfinders where she was Sales Team Leader and Trainer for six-and-a-half years, will be the BDM for the north.

Until now, both regions have been covered by Sandra Foreman, who was promoted in September to the newly created position of National Account Manager. The new appointments bring the number of people in Wendy Wu’s UK on-the-road trade team to seven.

The expansion follows a 35% year-on-year growth in sales for the operator in the north and Scotland, compared to its national average of 20%.

John said: “My priority is to make sure every agent in Scotland knows they have a dedicated BDM at the end of a phone or email. I aim to meet all of them within my first few months – to understand what support they need and how I can help grow their knowledge, confidence, and sales with Wendy Wu.”

Demi said: “Coming from a retail background, I understand what agents need from a BDM -and the challenges they face. My training experience will be key in educating and supporting agents, so they feel fully confident recommending Wendy Wu Tours to their customers.”
