The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has expanded its UK trade team with the appointment of Lydia Gibbs as Senior Executive, Trade Marketing.
Lydia will support the UK trade through marketing campaigns, training and fam trips, helping agents and tour operators promote Hong Kong to customers.
She joins from marketing agency MMGY Global, where she worked as an Account Executive in sales and marketing across a range of tourism clients.
Based in HKTB’s London office, she will report to Joëlle Watkins, Senior Manager, Trade Marketing, UK and Northern Europe, who joined the role in February 2026.
Her appointment comes as arrivals from the UK to Hong Kong increased by 14.8% in the first half of 2026.
Hong Kong Tourism Board Director for Europe Anette Wendel-Menke said: “With Lydia on board, we are even better placed to deliver our trade strategy: driving increased visitor arrivals, developing new and diversified products, and building greater awareness of, and confidence in selling, Hong Kong.
“This timing aligns perfectly with our ongoing ‘Only in Hong Kong’ campaign and plays a crucial role in our strategy to boost both the volume and value of UK visitors. Lydia’s expertise will enable us to collaborate even more effectively with our industry partners to achieve this.”
