EasyJet will add a total of 18 new routes from 10 UK airports next summer, including two additional routes to Spain from Aberdeen and a new flight to Greece from Southend, where it will base a fourth aircraft in 2027.
Southend Airport said the addition of a service to Rhodes, starting on 27 April, was in direct response to demand from travel agents and customers.
Southend Airport CEO Jude Winstanley said: “We’ve listened to what our customers and local travel agents have been telling us, and Greece was one of the obvious gaps in our network.
“We’re really pleased to have filled that gap, and we’re excited to see what other new destinations the fourth based A320neo will bring for summer 2027.
“This is a significant moment for the airport. We expect passenger numbers to pass the one million mark in 2027, while our continued growth will also create more local jobs.”
EasyJet has also introduced Girona in north-east Spain as a new destination, with flights from Liverpool starting on 28 March and from London Gatwick from 3 June.
It is offering four other new routes to Spain next summer, including flights from Aberdeen to Barcelona and Majorca, from Liverpool to Murcia and from Edinburgh to Bilbao.
In total, the airline will operate six new routes from Scottish airports.
It is also offering more flights to France, with new services from London Gatwick to Ajaccio from 30 June and from Bristol to Montpellier from 1 July.
EasyJet will be the only airline offering flights on both of these routes, as well as Manchester to Bastia, which will launch on 29 June.
For Birmingham, it will become the only carrier offering a route to Milan Malpensa when flights launch on 29 March, while flights from Edinburgh to Rome Fiumicino launch on 30 March.
The airline is also continuing to grow its network to Montenegro with flights from Edinburgh to Tivat launching on 29 March and Birmingham to Tivat starting on 3 May.
Edinburgh will also gain a new route to Hamburg from 29 March, while Bristol will also get a new route to Burgas in Bulgaria from 28 May.
From Newcastle, there will be a new route to Larnaca launching on 31 March.
In addition to a new London Southend to Rhodes service, easyJet will be offering new flights between London Luton and Thessaloniki in Greece from 1 May.
