Delta Air Lines is extending its service from Edinburgh to New York to a year-round operation.
The US carrier currently runs daily flights between the two cities from March to the end of October, and four flights a week in November and December, and that will now run throughout the year with the addition of a thrice-weekly service in January and February.
Edinburgh Airport Chief Commercial Officer Stephanie Wear said: “Extending this service to year-round is fantastic news for passengers, ensuring continued connectivity to New York and onward to North America through Delta’s hub network.
“Edinburgh Airport already offers a fantastic range of services to the US, and we are delighted that Delta shares our confidence in the strength of our market and in our role as a key driver of economic growth.
“We look forward to working with our colleagues at Delta to making this extension a success and to exploring opportunities for further improvements in the future.”
Delta also operates daily flights from Edinburgh to Atlanta and Boston during the summer peak.
