The programme, which goes on sale on 15 October, covers European rivers including the Rhine, Douro, Danube and Dutch Waterways.

It includes four new itineraries, including a 14-night ‘Grand European Journey’ to Budapest on VIVA ENJOY, sailing from Amsterdam on 25 May.

VIVA TIARA will operate a seven-night ‘Meuse Moments’ sailing roundtrip from Düsseldorf, with three departures in June and July.

VIVA ONE will offer a seven-night ‘Enchantment on the IJsselmeer’, also sailing roundtrip from Düsseldorf, with four departures between June and August.

VIVA RUBY will introduce a 10-night ‘Wine Journey Between Basel and Nancy’, departing Basel on 5October and calling at destinations including Strasbourg, Bingen, Koblenz, Cochem, Bernkastel and Trier.

The programme also adds four new ports of call: Bingen and Glückstadt in Germany, and Medemblik and Lemmer in the Netherlands.

New excursions include wine tasting at the Disibodenberg Monastery Ruins in Bingen and a visit to Giethoorn from Lemmer.

The 2028 programme will also feature themed cruises covering wellness, jazz, culinary experiences and wine.

The line has also unveiled its 2028 VIVA Boutique programme, which runs from February to December. The 112-guest VIVA BEYOND will sail the Seine and and 104-guest VIVA UNIQUE will sail in Italy across the Po River and the Venetian Lagoon.

A new seven-night ‘Champagne & Sparkling Cruise’ will sail roundtrip from Paris on 29 July, with a full-day Champagne excursion and tastings, masterclasses and paired menus led by VIVA’s master of wine Romana Echensperger. Prices start from £3,150pp.

VIVA UNIQUE will introduce a three-night ‘Venice City Stay’, with the ship remaining in the heart of Venice as a floating boutique hotel, including during the Venice Carnival. Prices start from £750pp.

The programme targets the luxury end of river cruising, with more than 50% of accommodation across the two ships in suites. Guests also have access to three restaurants, including Michelin-star-inspired MOMENTS, while suite guests receive airport transfers, priority boarding, in-suite breakfast and a personal concierge.

Director of Sales UK & Ireland and Australia & New Zealand Michelle Daniels said: “Our 2028 programme represents an important step forward, with more departures than ever and an incredibly diverse choice of itineraries designed to offer something for every kind of river cruise guest.

“From our new Grand European Journey and scenic Dutch waterways to a dedicated wine journey between Basel and Nancy, we are expanding the ways guests can explore a wealth of destinations by river.

“The addition of new ports, experiences and themed cruises also allows returning guests to discover something different, with itineraries showcasing the culture, cuisine, landscapes and character of each destination.”
