TUI Group CEO Sebastian Ebel has said the UK cruise market will get more TUI ships in the coming years.
Speaking on a media call today (Tuesday) announcing the financial results for the first quarter, Sebastian said: “We ordered two ships from Fincantieri for 2031 and 2033. We have three options, and we need to decide whether this will go into TUI Cruises for the UK market.
“The UK market will see more TUI ships. Which brand is not yet decided.”
In September last year, TUI cancelled its order for two new-build ships for its Marella fleet and replaced the slot with two ships to go into the TUI Cruises fleet.
Sebastian added he was ‘very proud’ of Marella’s performance in the three months to the end of December 2025.
Occupancy increased by three percentage points compared to the previous year period to 98%, which Sebastian said was an ‘outstanding achievement’.
Underlying earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) for TUI’s cruise division for the first quarter was up by 70.8%, from €48.2m to €82.3m.
Revenue was up 6.2% compared to the same period last year, from €175.9m to €186.8m.
