Edinburgh Grand reopens as Scotland’s first Luxury Collection hotel

The Edinburgh Grand has reopened as the first Scottish hotel under Marriott’s Luxury Collection brand.

The hotel, which is set in the former headquarters of the Royal Bank of Scotland, opened this week after a refurbishment and repositioning to target the luxury extended-stay and leisure markets.

It has 50 one-, two- and three-bedroom rooms and suites, each with a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area.

As part of its entry into The Luxury Collection, the hotel has introduced new services, including an in-room omelette breakfast service, whisky nightcaps and a 24-hour concierge, as well as bedtime poems and tartan pyjamas for young guests.

The hotel also welcomes dogs, and offers a pet pack including a blanket, towel, water bowl, treats, and a personalised Edinburgh Grand dog tag.

General Manager Emre Pasli said: “The Edinburgh Grand has long been distinguished for its unique history as the former headquarters of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

“Becoming part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection allows us to honour that legacy through thoughtful experiences, exceptional service and a sense of place that seamlessly blends timeless charm with the unique essence of Scotland.”

The hotel is close to Waverley Station, Edinburgh Castle, Princes Street and the Royal Mile.

Prices start from £280 per night.
