Aberdeen Airport rolls out AI assistant

Aberdeen International Airport has unveiled a digital assistant, called Hello Aberdeen.

Hello Aberdeen is available via QR codes across the airport so passengers can get instant support on mobile devices, with information available for people with accessibility needs and international travellers as well as domestic passengers.

By automating responses to routine enquiries, the tool reduces the volume of common questions directed to staff, allowing operational teams to focus on more complex and urgent tasks.

Hello Aberdeen also unlocks new insights into passenger needs, helping the airport identify trends, improve services and address key areas for improvement.

A trial last year at sister airport Glasgow revealed a 50% reduction in reduction in queries being received by customer service staff and an 86% satisfaction rate among users.

Airport Managing Director Mark Beveridge said: “This AI-powered assistant we hope will further enhance the customer experience, ensuring a smoother and more personalised journey for all that pass through Aberdeen International Airport.”
