It’s been more than two years since Norse Atlantic Airways launched in the UK as a long-haul, airline. Head of Sales UK Andrew Fish said he often gets asked the same questions by agents who want to know how to book and what to tell their clients about flying with the carrier.
What is the Norse USP?
Norse is known as ‘The Explorer’s Airline’ and with their keen price points aim to make long haul travel affordable for all. Flying modern aircraft to many popular destinations they offer extra capacity and provide enhanced comfort at affordable fares, representing exceptional value.
What aircraft do you fly?
Norse Atlantic’s fleet is made up of Boeing 787 Dreamliners, which offer an improved cabin atmosphere with a comfortable altitude, cleaner air, less noise and enhanved humidity. Modern LED lighting gives the feel of natural daylight in the cabin. The aircraft produce 25% lower CO2 emissions, and a 50% quieter experience compared to older aircraft models still in use globally.
What class of cabin are available?
There are two classes: Economy and Premium (Economy)
Economy
Economy fares are designed to give passengers flexibility and great value. Customers can choose the ticket type that works best for them:
Economy Light allows one personal item and 10kg carry-on luggage. Tickets are changeable for a fee.
Economy Classic has the same allowances as Economy Light, as well as one standard 23kg checked luggage; one meal (first service) and general boarding. Classic is loaded into the GDS meaning every fare sold in the GDS comes with a meal and baggage.
Passengers booking Economy Flextra get the same benefits as Economy Classic, plus seat selection, priority boarding and the ticket is changeable and refundable.
Premium (Economy)
Even before they’ve boarded, Premium class passengers experience a smoother airport experience with dedicated check-in counters, faster baggage drop, reduced wait time plus the privilege of early boarding
Once onboard, Premium passengers benefit from extra legroom, with a 43-inch seat pitch for stretch-out comfort; wide seats for an excellent recline for a restful journey; meals and drinks served at no additional cost and a complimentary kit with essentials for a relaxed trip. The Norse Premium (Economy) seat is the largest seat in its cabin class flown worldwide.
Is food included in the price?
Economy Classic and Economy Flextra passengers will get the first meal of the flight included in the price with a soft drink. Other hot and cold meals are available to purchase, as are alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Passengers order from their seat. Meals and drinks are included in the price for all Premium passengers.
What about in-flight entertainment?
Passengers can enjoy a wide range of films and shows on Norse Atlantic Airways’ state-of-the-art entertainment system in each seat.
Can I book on GDSs?
Yes, Norse’s product is available on global distribution systems (GDS)s including Amadeus, Sabre and Travelport, through a partnership with airline representation company APG. Flights are bookable via the APG Interline E-ticketing (IET) system and on APG’s B2B platform, APG Connect.
Fares are displayed under the A1 code in the GDS, making them fully bookable by both IATA and non-IATA agents. Flights can be booked as published or net tour operator fares. Every fare that’s sold in the GDS comes with a meal – one in economy and two in premium economy.
Which destinations does Norse fly to?
Summer routes out of London Gatwick are: Orlando, New York, Los Angeles and Miami.
Winter routes out of Gatwick operate to New York, Orlando and Cape Town. Norse will launch a new direct route between Gatwick and Bangkok for winter 2025, with flights operating up to four times a week from 26 October, and prices starting at £295, including taxes.
