Seaside Travel launches Giving Back Promise for local good causes

Seaside Travel is stepping up its involvement with local good causes after launching a group-wide Giving Back Promise.

The agency chain, which has 13 branches in the North East and a homeworking division, already works with some local charities. For example, the Prudhoe branch has regularly supported Tynedale Hospice, while the Bishop Auckland branch raises money for the Angel Trust, which supports people in need across County Durham.

The group is now expanding its charity initiatives following the promotion of Dominic Graydon-Close from Assistant Manager of Seaside’s Prudhoe branch to Community and Events Manager as part of the senior management team.

Dom told Travel Gossip: “The community if the heart of our branches and we have always worked for local charities but we’re now ramping it up and all branches will commit to this.

“We want to play an active role within the community where our branches are and to show local residents that we are doing something to make a difference – as little or big as that might be. We’re very excited to see what we can get up to. Who knows where it will grow from here? The sky’s the limit.”

Seaside’s community initiatives were previously overseen by Community and Training Manager Kate Pinder, but as the training part of her job has grown, a new role was created for Dom.
