United Airlines is to introduce three fare options in premium cabins on its long-haul and transcontinental flights and on select services to Hawaii.
The new fares will be rolled out from later this month until the end of the year.
“These new tiered options give customers more choice and make it easier to find a fare that includes the benefits they want most – whether that’s a great value, added perks, or maximum flexibility,” said Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Nocella.
The new tiers are: Base, which is the lowest price but limits customers to one checked bag and doesn’t allow flight changes, refunds or free seat selection; Standard, which includes two checked bags and allows flight changes and free seat selection but no refunds; and Flexible, which includes two checked bags, flight changes, refunds, free seat selection and upgrades.
The front cabin will branded United Polaris on select US and some longer Hawaii flights, and customers who buy the standard or flexible fares in United Polaris on these flights will have access to the United Polaris lounge.
Customers who buy the United Polaris base fares will still have access to the United Club.
There are no changes to United’s economy fares.
