TUI Group is reporting an increase in holiday demand and improved booking momentum in recent weeks but says the late booking trend is continuing into the winter.
The operator said ongoing geopolitical and economic uncertainty is fuelling the late trend, adding it is managing capacity carefully and retaining flexibility to adjust programmes in line with demand.
For summer 2026, booked revenue remains 5% behind last year, although TUI said momentum had improved across all markets as customers booked closer to departure. UK booked revenue stands at 7% below last year, while Germany is down 2%.
Looking ahead to winter 2026/27, booked revenue is currently 7% behind the previous season, with the UK down 9% and Germany down 4%. Despite this, TUI said booking momentum had improved over the last four weeks and average selling prices remained resilient.
The Canaries, mainland Spain, Egypt (pictured) and Cape Verde are expected to be the most popular winter destinations, alongside long-haul destinations Thailand, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
In a pre-close trading update ahead of its 2026 full-year results in December, TUI said it now expects underlying earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of between €1.2 billion and €1.3bn for the year, narrowing its previous guidance range of €1.1bn to €1.4bn.
TUI said strong demand for its Hotels & Resorts, Cruises and Musement divisions, together with improved bookings in its Markets + Airline business, had enabled it to tighten its forecast.
It said Holiday Experiences had made a strong start to winter 2026/27, supported by the expansion of its hotel and cruise portfolio and continued demand at higher rates.
TUI’s Hotels & Resorts division reported average daily rates up 4% for the current quarter.
