LA launches first UK ad campaign since devastating wildfires

Los Angeles Tourism has launched a new We Love LA campaign in the UK to showcase the city’s ‘authentic’ experiences.

The campaign highlights LA’s attractions including its culinary scene, outdoor activities, and sports and entertainment.

It takes viewers through a ‘perfect’ day in LA, drawing inspiration from Randy Newman’s classic song ‘I Love LA,’, which has become synonymous with home team post-game celebrations in the City of Angels.

The ad will appear on billboards in busy commuter stations around London, including Waterloo, and at popular locations in Manchester, as well as on Google and social media and spots on ITV, including during England’s World Cup qualifiers to promote LA as a host city for the FIFA World Cup ’26.

Francine Sheridan, Regional Vice President, Europe & ME, Los Angeles Tourism, said: “We’re excited to invest in the UK and Ireland this spring with brand new creative and messaging in our new We Love LA campaign.

“The campaign is designed to generate inquiries for the trade and ultimately increase bookings to LA. We Love LA isn’t just a tagline – it highlights the authentic, passionate spirit that visitors will find in Los Angeles.

“As one of the primary gateways to the United States, our City of Angels is always ready to roll out the red carpet for visitors from across the UK and Ireland.”

Addressing the wildfires that ripped through parts of LA in January, Francine said less than 2% of the city was directly impacted, adding: “The overwhelming majority of our world-class attractions and tourism-related businesses remain fully operational, and we continue to welcome visitors with the warmth and creativity that make LA so unique.”

However, she urged visitors to ‘travel respectfully’ and avoid the badly impacted residential areas of the Pacific Palisades and Altadena.

Francine added: “Explore and support the local businesses and hotels across LA’s unaffected areas: Downtown LA, the Arts District, Culver City, Mid-City, Silver Lake, Echo Park, Koreatown, Thai Town, The Valley, and many more.”
