Julie Franklin has joined AS Training in a part-time Business Development Manager role, tasked with encouraging more travel businesses to take on apprentices.
Julie left Hotelplan UK in January, where she was Head of Agency Sales at Inghams and Santa’s Lapland and set up as a homeworking agent with Designer Travel in June.
She started her part-time role with AS Training this week. She will work with employers that have not previously hired apprentices, promoting apprenticeship routes and helping businesses understand how they can bring in new talent.
Julie said: “I am excited to share that alongside my Designer Travel by Julie Franklin business, I am working with [Managing Director] Michelle Van Sprang and the fabulous AS Training team, bringing opportunities to business to bring new talent in to our beloved travel industry.
“Having been given an opportunity myself 40 years ago via a work experience placement aged 17, I think it’s so important to be constantly looking for ways in which to bring in the next generation.
“AS training offers a great apprenticeship platform for new entry and also growth in existing employees who want to progress their career or learn more about and gain qualifications in a new channel such as digital and AI.
“I am looking forward to sharing ideas and creating excitement and opportunities with many of my industry friends.”
