Gold Medal is allowing agents to book packages to Florida up until March 2027 and New York till March 2026 on its website.
It has launched its complete Florida programme, with more than 100 hotels, with guaranteed pricing on flights to Orlando with British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Aer Lingus from London, Manchester and Edinburgh.
Its New York programme includes 70 hotels, and prices are guaranteed until March 2026.
As soon as it switched on the ODR functionality on its site, it took one booking – from a Barrhead Travel agent – for a Universal package in October 2026.
Barrhead Managing Director Nicki Tempest-Mitchell said: “It’s been clear for a while now that holidaymakers are planning their trips earlier every year.
“Particularly when it comes to those bucket-list holidays, we’re seeing that customers want the certainty of booking in advance, not only to spread the cost, but to guarantee their first choice of accommodation.
“It’s great to see key partners, such as Gold Medal, advance their ODR product – the fact we were the first to use the service without it even being launched illustrates the demand for this type of product.”
Gold Medal Trade Partnerships Director Karen Fletcher, pictured above, said: “We knew the demand for out-of-date range package holidays online has been strong for a long time, following feedback from our agents.
“Agents can phone our contact centre for ODR quotes but having it available on the web now is a unique feature that we hope agents will utilise for those clients planning further ahead.”
Gold Medal is currently working on expanding the product available online, she added.
