Foreign Office takes Israel and Jordan off its no-travel list

The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) is no longer advising against all travel to Jordan and Israel.

The no-travel warnings had been in place since February.

In an update issued on Wednesday afternoon, the FCDO said: “FCDO no longer advises against all travel to Israel and Palestine but continues to advise against all travel to Gaza, parts of the West Bank and parts of northern Israel and the occupied Golan Heights.”

Most of country is now listed as ‘green’ under the FCDO’s classification system, which means travellers should consult the FCDO’s advice before departure.

The FCDO’s updated advice for Jordan says: “FCDO no longer advises against all but essential travel to Jordan but continues to advise against all travel within 3km of the border with Syria.”

Last week, Wizz Air became the first European budget airline to resume flights to Israel.
