The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) issued new advice to travellers in the Middle East, in an update to its warning about the risks of regional escalation following strikes between Israel and Iran.
The update was issued on Monday afternooon, after US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between the two countries.
In an update to earlier advice that says ‘hostilities in the region and between Israel and Iran have the potential to deteriorate further, quickly and without warning’, the FCDO is now also telling Brits to:‘Take shelter and stay away from windows if instructed’.
It has also provided the phone number of emergency services if people ‘require urgent assistance’.
The update has been issued for countries including for Jordan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Oman.
