A new podcast designed to ‘entertain and educate’ agents is looking for real-life travel-related stories to share with its audience.
Agents are being invited to submit tales of their own trips, bizarre customer requests or funny complaints.
The show, called Tales of a Travel Agent, will be co-hosted by The Good Travel Agent CEO Jake Cullum-Hollins and Club Voyages travel consultant Becky Walker.
“We became friends when we met on a fam trip to Jamaica in September 2024 and have not stopped chatting to each other since,” said Jake.
“We recently came up with the idea to launch a podcast aimed at travel professionals to entertain, educate and have some fun!”
The precise format of the show has yet to be finalised, but Jake said the first episode will be recorded next week, with the aim of launching on April Fool’s Day.
“One segment we will definitely include is stories from our listeners that we can share, discuss and offer advice and opinions on,” added Jake. “These can be any travel-related story, we want to hear it all! We would love some stories to discuss on next week’s episode.”
Agents can request names are withheld if their stories are used, to protect their and their customers’ identities.
“Most travel-related podcasts out there are targeted at customers so we wanted to do something different and give the travel industry some entertainment that will be relatable, light-hearted and educational,” added Jake.
The podcast will be available to listen to on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Announcing the launch on Travel Gossip’s Facebook group, Jake wrote: “Have you ever had a hilarious customer request? A travel disaster that turned into an adventure? Or a behind-the-scenes moment that only travel agents would understand? We want to hear about it!
“Send your stories – funny, bizarre, heartwarming, or just downright unbelievable – to [email protected].”
