EasyJet holidays has hosted its first dedicated sustainability fam trip in Lanzarote to showcase how sustainable holidays can be brought into the mainstream.
Barrhead Travel trade and retail staff joined the trip on 27-30 August 2026, which was co-hosted with Hyatt Inclusive Collection.
The group stayed at Secrets Lanzarote Resort and Spa and touring Grand Hyatt Lanzarote Playa Dorada Resort, both part of easyJet holidays’ Certified Sustainable hotel collection.

Attendees learned about easyJet holidays’ Holiday Better initiative, focused on making sustainable travel more affordable, minimising the impact of package holiday tourism and embedding sustainability across business.
The itinerary included an interactive destination challenge, giving agents insight into Lanzarote’s culture, community initiatives and local businesses.
Attendees also participated in a roundtable discussion exploring client attitudes towards sustainability and sharing ideas on how to drive more sustainable easyJet holidays bookings.
Attendee Mille Cathcart said: “The trip has given me a much better understanding of sustainability within the travel industry. Since returning to work, I’ve been able to share what I learned with my colleagues and use that knowledge when speaking with customers. It has helped me feel more confident discussing sustainable travel options and explaining how choosing more responsible holidays can have a positive impact on local communities and the environment.”
Another attendee Maja Birrell added :“A sustainability fam trip is a great way to combine product knowledge with a better understanding of responsible tourism, while giving us the confidence and knowledge to promote sustainability in a genuine and engaging way.”
