River cruise bookings through Not Just Travel homeworkers are up 97% this year, compared to its overall cruise sales growth of 30%.
As a result, river cruise’s share of NJT’s total cruise bookings has risen from 3% to 6% and the company described selling prices as ‘strong’.
NJT said the increase was due to its focus on river cruises and touring holidays in March, together with a ‘significant shift’ in holiday preferences among British travellers.
Co-founder Steve Witt said: “Our month-long targeted approach has clearly resonated with both consultants and their customers who seek more intimate, culturally immersive travel experiences.
“The substantial growth confirms our belief that river cruising represents one of the most exciting opportunities in today’s travel market.”
Not Just Travel Head of Commercial Clare Cruise said the homeworking group is planning an expanded programme for the coming year, including fam trips and personalised training modules for consultants, depending on their level of experience from new-to-river cruise to specialists.
