Ambassador drops multi-generational cruises to become adult-only

Ambassador Cruise Line will be 100% adult-only for the first time for its 2027/28 season, which runs from 24 March 2027 to 14 April 2028.

It said the decision to remove multi-generational cruises to ‘create a calm, adult-focussed community at sea’ followed ‘extensive’ guest feedback.

The cruise line confirmed that, for the first time, every itinerary will be adult-only during its 2027/28 season, including during the school holidays.

The new season features 32 no-fly cruises and four Festive Events on Ambience and 43 cruises on Ambition.

The two ships sail from London Cruise Terminal in Tilbury, Newcastle, Dundee, Liverpool, Belfast, Bristol Royal Portbury and Portsmouth.

In total, the Ambassador fleet will sail 75 itineraries and call at 131 ports – 10 of which are new – in 41 countries across three continents.

The season will also feature a range of shorter sailings, from one to four nights, taking in the British Isles and Northern Europe; themed cruise getaways including a Tribute to the 90’s, Battle of the Bands and Party Nights; and Christmas market cruises.

Destinations range from the British islands to the Caribbean and the Americas. New ports of call are Hellesylt (Norway), Fredericia (Denmark), Velas, Sao Jorde Island (Azores) and Samana (Dominican Republic), Torquay (UK), Ibiza (Spain), Klaksvik (Faroe Islands), Samana (Dominican Republic) and Sao Jorde Island and Santa Maria Island in the Azores.

Ambience will also host four Festive Events at Ambassador’s home port of Tilbury on 10, 11, 17 and 18 December, including a five-course lunch or dinner, followed by a show and an overnight stay with breakfast the next morning.

There’s a buy one, get a second guest half price offer on all sailings booked before 30 September, subject to availability, 50% off premium drinks packages on selected sailings on Ambassador Fares, 5% off for groups of 15 or more and up to two free places for larger groups.

Ambassador CEO Christian Verhounig said business was up 25% year on year. “As we embark on another exciting season, I am delighted to unveil Ambassador’s range of exciting itineraries for 2027/28, which reflect our commitment to championing maritime traditions and ensuring that all those who travel with Ambassador enjoys their sailing effortlessly and sustainably,” he added.
