Silversea has revealed more details of its 150-room luxury hotel, The Cormorant at 55 South, in Chile, which is scheduled to open during the 2025/2026 Antarctica season.
The Cormorant at 55 South will become part of Silversea’s Antarctica fly-cruise programme, enabling guests to skip the Drake Passage and spend more time sailing the continent.
It is based in Puerto Williams, at 55° S, making it the southernmost hotel on Earth.
The hotel will have two distinct room views: forest views and water views overlooking the Beagle Channel. Staff will be trained to offer the high level of service synonymous with Silversea, ensuring a seamless experience for guests.
Silversea President Bert Hernandez said: “The Cormorant at 55 South is a tribute to the rich culture, breathtaking natural beauty, and storied history of Puerto Williams, immersing guests in their destination before embarking on their journey to Antarctica.
“Every aspect of The Cormorant is thoughtfully designed with our guests in mind, ensuring a comfortable and uniquely Silversea experience.
“Each room offers panoramic views of Patagonia, and the hotel creates a deep connection to the local community, providing specially designed experiences that will allow our guests to begin their expeditions sooner than ever, all in uncompromised comfort.”
