Regent Holidays has launched four new trips to Turkmenistan – one small group and three bespoke, privately guided itineraries.
It’s the first time the operator has had the Central Asian destination in its portfolio since the pandemic.
Regent Holidays started re-selling to Turkmenistan to enquiring customers in 2024 but is now making these trips openly available on its website for 2026 departures, due to popular demand.
Head of Regen Andrea Godfrey said: “Carl Meadows, our Senior Product and Travel Specialist, has long been a fan of Turkmenistan and has very recently returned from an in-depth trip around the country, meeting suppliers, re-immersing himself in the destination and making new discoveries.”
One option is the 15-day Turkmenistan in Depth privately guided itinerary, which is the most in-depth of the trips.
Highlights include Silk Road cities such as UNESCO-listed Merv and Nissa; Yangykala’s canyons and desert cliffs; the blazing Darvaza Gas Crater at sunset; the Köýtendag Nature Reserve, home to Turkmenistan’s highest peak, Aýrybaba, the sacred Kyrk Gyz Cave and dinosaur footprints on the Köýtendag Plateau; a MiG jet display and the Gök Bazaar in Mary; the multi-ethnic port city of Turkmenbashy; a visit to the Akhal-Teke Stud Farm and the capital Ashgabat.
It also includes an overnight sleeper train journey from Amurdarya to Mary, and an overnight stay in a rural homestay or camp, with all equipment provided.
Prices start from £4,695 per person, including international and internal flights, accommodation, most meals, experiences, standard visa, letter of invitation, and a local English-speaking guide.
Agents can access assets including Regent’s images and itineraries for marketing purposes by logging on to the ITC’s free online toolkit.
