Plans for a new Spanish train line to connect tourism hot spots

A new train line has been proposed for the Costa del Sol, which would connect Malaga with Marbella.

A Spanish group of local engineers, railway experts and regular train commuters have suggested the ambitious plans for a line stretching along the coast via the Guadalhorce Valley.

Sur in English reported that the group – Plataforma Infraestructuras Malaga – has put forward a number of plans to improve the route network as the existing C1 local train service only runs between Malaga and Fuengirola.

The Malaga to Marbella route would have a maximum journey time of 45-50 minutes and would compete with the current ridesharing services.
