AmaWaterways christened its newest luxury river cruise ship, AmaSintra, in a ceremony in Porto last week.
The ship was officially christened by its godmother, Vacation Planners President Jenn Lee, before embarking on its inaugural voyage along the Douro River.
AmaSintra has capacity for 102 guests across 51 staterooms, with most rooms featuring an outside balcony and a floor-to-ceiling window. Facilities include a Sun Deck pool, a fitness room and a main restaurant.
The ship will operate one itinerary, a seven-night ‘Enticing Douro’ cruise from Porto with calls at Régua and Salamanca, and an optional three-night pre-cruise land programme in Lisbon. Prices start from £2,927 per person.
Chief Brand Ambassador Kristin Karst said: “Portugal continues to grow in popularity as a river cruising destination, and AmaSintra will offer an unforgettable experience to all who sail aboard.
“With departures running through late December, travellers looking to discover this remarkable part of the world will easily find a home on board AmaSintra.”
