One of Carrick Travel’s seven branches has closed after owner Midcounties Co-operative said it no longer fitted with its long-term strategy.
The shop, in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, closed at the end of the last month. All bookings have been moved to Carrick Travel ‘s Leamington Spa branch.
Carrick Travel was acquired by Midcounties Co-operative Travel in October 2020 and operates as part of the Co-operative Travel division.
A spokesperson for Your Co-op Travel said: “The Midcounties Co-operative board regularly reviews our property footprint to ensure we’re providing the best opportunity to deliver for our members and customers while supporting local communities across the regions where Your Co-op Travel branches are present.
“As part of this review, the Your Co-op Travel Kenilworth branch was identified as no longer fitting with the long-term strategy of the Society. Therefore, the store ceased trading on 30 October.
“We were in consultation with three colleagues who were part of the branch team and, where possible, have offered them alternative roles within the business.
“All existing bookings have been transferred to our Leamington Spa branch to ensure continuity of service for our members and customers. We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the team at Kenilworth for their hard work and understanding during this time of transition.”
