Wizz acquires TUI’s Luton slots to add six routes

Wizz Air has acquired slots from TUI Airways at London Luton Airport to add six new routes from summer 2026.

The airline announced that it planned to shift its capacity to Luton last month, following the news that TUI was moving its aircraft to Gatwick.

From June 2026, Wizz Air will add flights from Luton to Yerevan in Armenia (pictured), Alicante, Lyon, Corfu, Faro and Turin.

The deal means the low-cost airline will base an additional Airbus A321 neo at Luton, bringing the total aircraft based at the airport to 15.

It will operate five weekly flights to Alicante, four to Faro, three to Lyon and Turin and twice weekly to Corfu and Yerevan.

Corfu becomes the airline’s fifth Greek island destination, joining the previously announced routes to Chania, Rhodes, Mykonos, and Zakynthos.

Wizz said it will operate the first non-stop flights to Yerevan from London.

Wizz UK Managing Director Yvonne Moynihan said: “This announcement underlines our continued commitment to London Luton Airport and the wider UK market. As we expand our presence, we are creating local jobs and delivering on our Customer First Compass promise – providing low fare travel opportunities to an exciting range of destinations using our latest-generation aircraft.

“Securing additional slots at Luton strengthens our competitive position in the London market. With the launch of our 15th based aircraft at London Luton Airport, we’re delighted to deliver a festive surprise by introducing six exciting new routes, including the first-ever direct connection from London to Armenia.”
