Virgin Atlantic has announced a series of customer service initiatives, including a total refit of its Boeing 787-900 fleet, with more Upper and Premium seats, and free wi-fi for all passengers.
Upper and Premium Class cabins on its Dreamliners will be expanded, to include 44 Upper Class seats and 56 Premium seats (up from 31 and 35 respectively).
For the first time, the Retreat Suite (pictured above), introduced on its Airbus A330s in 2020, will be added to the 787-900, with eight seats available in every Upper Class cabin.
The economy cabin will reduce from 192 to 127 seats.
The refit will be rolled out from 2028, and completed by 2030.
From the third-quarter of next year, Virgin will start to receive 10 Airbus A330neo aircraft with 48 Upper Class seats (up from 32), 56 Premium (up from 46) and 128 Economy (down from 184).
Following a partnership with the superfast wifi service Starlink, Virgin will offer free, unlimited ‘streaming-quality’ wi-fi across its fleet to every passenger who signs up to its Flying Club loyalty programme.
Installation will begin in the third-quarter of 2026 and be completed by the end of 2027.
