Travellers to Israel from visa-exempt countries, including the UK, will need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) from January 2025, not 1 August 2024 as previously announced.
The ETA will allow them to enter the country for up to 90 days.
It costs 25 New Israeli Sheqel, which is about £5.
The Foreign Office has updated its travel advice for Israel, warning that visitors will need to obtain on ETA before they arrive.
Passports must also be valid for at least six months.
