Two Spear Travels shops rebrand as Miles Morgan

Two Spear Travels branches in the South West of England have rebranded as Miles Morgan Travel shops.

The rebrand comes a year after Spear Travels’ 12 branches and homeworker network were bought by Hays Travel, which also owns Miles Morgan Travel.

The two shops are in Thame and Blandford, and their addition brings the number of Miles Morgan Travel shops to 22.

Miles Morgan Travel announced on social media: “We’re delighted to announce the addition of two new Miles Morgan Travel shops in Thame and Blandford.

“Previously operating under the Spear Travels name, these branches are now proudly part of the Miles Morgan Travel family and we’re thrilled to welcome them on board.

“We’re excited for this new chapter and look forward to welcoming customers to our new shops in Thame and Blandford.”

Hays Travel Chief Operating Officer Jonathon Woodall-Johnston said: “Since acquiring Spear Travels a year ago, we have taken time to fully understand the business, working with the excellent team and listening to their views.

“Rebranding the two South West branches as Miles Morgan Travel makes sense for a number of business reasons, but equally for our customers. A combination of being part of the Miles Morgan Travel brand and Hays Travel family creates great opportunities for our Spear Travels colleagues.”

Spear Travels was the first acquisition of the 2025 financial year for Hays. The founders, husband and wife Peter and Libby Cookson, and Derek Adams, left the business following the sale.

In May this year, Spear Travels Group Commercial and Operations Manager Julie Kendrick left the company, with Guy Fletcher, Sales and Marketing Director of Millington Travel, which was bought by Hays last November, taking on a wider role.
